The fourth open house at Avalon by Otterbein at Maineville on Thursday, July 15, was undeniably a success, with more than 70 people visiting the small house neighborhood in Hamilton Township. Known for exceptional rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, Avalon by Otterbein small house neighborhoods were ranked high in a resident survey released March 4 by the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA). The next open house is from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 19.
The Northeast Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the recent event, with John Harris, president of the chamber, in attendance along with a dozen or so delegates of the chamber. Brian Willms, president of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, also attended.
Guide Wayne Rost, Coach Michelle Vernon, Business Coordinator Kelli Gescuk and Sales Coordinator Jeff Bassett gave tours throughout the three-hour event.
According to Bassett, people attended for a variety of reasons: older adults looking for themselves, children looking for their parents and many business professionals.
Bassett said, “Many people were very impressed with the concept. They had no idea how unique it was!”
