Celebrate summer’s end by attending Otterbein Portage Valley’s Chicken Barbeque and Fall Festival. The festival is from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at 20311 Pemberville Rd., Pemberville. Go and enjoy a delicious lunch with your neighbors.
Rex Myers and his band, The Ramblin’ Man Band, will once again provide country-western musical entertainment. As an added treat, a local group, The Hot Flashes, will entertain with a musical stroll down memory lane. Tours of the villas and the beautiful new apartments also will be available. The event will feature a wellness and craft fair in the auditorium in air-conditioned comfort. Attendees will receive information about health, wellness and personal safety. Additionally, displays by area merchants and arts and craft treasures will be provided.
You can feast on a mouth-watering chicken barbeque dinner for only $8 a person or a quarter chicken or sloppy joe sandwich dinner for only $6. Meals include a baked potato, coleslaw, roll and beverage. The Luckey American Legion Post #240 cooks the delicious chicken to perfection, guaranteed rain or shine. For a minimal charge, top it off with a slice of a homemade pie, baked by members of the Portage Valley Auxiliary.
