We Have Lots of Stars!

Chef Reggie hosted a lovely barbeque lunch commemorating those we call “Partners in Caring” who have been employed with Otterbein for two or more years. Even I was surprised to find out most everyone with us today has been serving our members for years.

Chef Reggie presented the 20-Year Service Award to Winnie Zimmerman (pictured above). Winnie offers her service in member dining and will answer to most anything including “Gramma,” but always with a fun smile and very quick hands. Thanks for all your hard work, Gramma!

Others who celebrated milestone anniversaries include Jane Westerhaus (15 years), Nicole Murphy (15 years), Jennifer Artz (10 years) and Barbara Forbes (10 years).

Celebrating two years each are Cadie Bergan, Terry Johnson, Paula Tucker, Gene Williams, Michele Kipplen, Christina Herrera, Geri Ricker, Pastor Pete Johnston, Howard Taulker , Heather Tinsman, Kathy Dotts, Sheila Grames, Julian Zapata, Director of Nursing Vickie Reese, Robin Briscoe, Holly Coble, Terry Stewart and Amy Seiler.

All of these partners in caring have adopted Otterbein’s mission as their own: In keeping with our United Methodist tradition, we seek to enhance the quality of life and holistic growth of older persons.

We know that every vocation is important in serving independent, assisted and nursing members at Otterbein.

Our housekeeping partners in caring keep members’ villas, apartments and nursing studios tidy.

Billing partners work to ensure members receive correct statements of account.

Our maintenance partners offer Johnny-on-the-spot maintenance, lovely landscaping and even light bulb changing and picture hanging.

Our life enrichment partners present plenty of educational activities, shopping and vibrant entertainment opportunities.

And Chef Reggie and his dining services team provide delicious, nutritious meals and service with a smile 365 days a year.

We’re convinced that every profession has a responsibility to be 100 percent involved in member services.

Visit us soon to see why our partners in caring and members stay and stay and stay! Join us for these events in May:
