Rehabilitation Services, Assisted Living and Nursing Care

Rehabilitation Services

Whether recovering from a surgery, hospital stay or an acute incident, Otterbein's on-site therapy programs provide the assistance necessary to aid your recovery. Having rehabilitation services available in the place you live eases the burden of making far away appointments, coordinating transportation and assistance and can eliminate the need to stay in a facility with which you are unfamiliar.

The goal is to ensure that individuals are able to live as independently as possible and that they may return to their home if they are able to do so upon start of therapy. Services include speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and restorative programs. The healthcare team works with you to ensure a holistic recovery, taking social, mental and spiritual needs into consideration along with the physical therapies.

Assisted Living

At Otterbein, assisted living means that you will receive help with some of life's daily activities so that you can continue living in comfort as independently as possible.

Five levels of assistance provide a range from minimal support to concentrated services for specialized needs. Your level of service is determined and customized through a comprehensive assessment by a licensed nurse prior to moving to the community. Your plan will be unique to you. Your health care team of dieticians, nursing professionals, social services, program specialists and pastoral care professionals will review the plan with you regularly and adjust to meet your changing needs.

We are committed to creating an environment where you can socialize with others, participate in organized activities, spend time on your crafts or hobbies or do what you choose. At Otterbein, you have choices and options.

Nursing Care

At Otterbein, your health and comfort are our priorities. The goal is to make a difference with quality and compassionate care and attention.

Otterbein nursing care is certified for both Medicare and Medicaid and offers both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and state-tested nursing assistants make up the nursing care team at Otterbein communities.

The holistic approach to life at Otterbein promotes a special living environment. Individuals are encouraged to meet their fullest physical, mental, social and spiritual potential at all levels of care and independence.

The nursing staff and professional staff coordinate specialized care as prescribed by a physician. The plan for your care will be tailored to your unique requirements. At Otterbein, you will discover a place of warmth and nurturing that is vital to your care.
