Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices offer a lifestyle where you can stay involved, explore new opportunities and embrace life to its fullest. There is a strong sense of community and family in the neighborhoods of ranch homes, patio homes and apartments at every Otterbein location.
Our western and northern Ohio retirement communities provide a warm and comfortable atmosphere where you’ll find company when you want it and privacy when you need it. You’re free to pursue your dreams and discover the possibilities that each community offers.
Whether you’re interested in physical, educational, social or spiritual pursuits, a host of opportunities awaits at each Otterbein community. Pathways to Wellness promotes health and whole person wellness for all who live and work in our communities. You will find a place where you can stay involved, explore new opportunities and live life to the fullest.
All who live and work at Otterbein communities come to know a special feeling of love in action that we call the “Spirit of Otterbein.” At Otterbein, you’ll find beautiful yet comfortable surroundings, the warm and caring staff that know your name, and the friendliness of the people who live here.
As continuing care retirement communities, Otterbein not only offers lifestyle choices, but also healthcare services to meet changing needs. At Otterbein, your health and comfort are our priorities. You’ll discover that professional staff will work with you to create a plan that meets your healthcare needs.
Assisted living means that you will receive help with some of life’s daily activities so you can continue in comfort as independently as possible. We understand that every person is an individual with unique needs. That is why Otterbein uses a holistic approach with a team of healthcare professionals to offer a variety of services. These healthcare professionals will work with you to customize a plan to provide as much or as little assistance required for your well-being. Five levels of assistance provide an array of services.
Rehabilitation services provide the needed assistance after a hospital stay or surgery. Otterbein’s on-site therapy programs provide the speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and restorative programs to assist you in returning to your home.
Nursing care is certified for both Medicare and Medicaid and offers both short-term and long-term stays. Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and state tested nursing assistants make up the nursing care team at Otterbein communities. An interdisciplinary team works with the nursing staff to coordinate specialized care as prescribed by your physician. Our goal is to promote a special environment where you are encouraged to meet your fullest physical, mental, social and spiritual potential.
Beginning with the United Brethren Church, then with the Evangelical United Brethren, and now the United Methodist Church, our tradition and mission has evolved and continues today based on our Christian foundation. Otterbein serves people of all faiths and is committed to helping all older people remain as independent as possible wherever they may reside. Church Relations exists to provide educational opportunities and tools for churches and congregations who seek added expertise in the field of aging.
We offer the knowledge gained from nearly a century of service to older adults through programming, conversation and services.

In keeping with Otterbein's United Methodist heritage and as part of the Pathways to Wellness philosophy, chaplaincy services are available at most Otterbein communities. Chaplains provide spiritual and pastoral care through a variety of means. Chaplains organize and lead worship services that reflect the traditions of the elders they serve. They do so by collaborating with area clergy, as well as work with other professionals who visit the communities to offer spiritual support. Chaplains make hospital visits, give end-of-life emotional and spiritual support, are on call to respond to emergency and death, and provide memorial services and bereavement support.
Otterbein chaplains serve without regard to religious affiliation.
