Otterbein Portage Valley's New Hearth Room

Otterbein Portage Valley is in the final stages of reconstruction in the assisted living and nursing areas.

One finished area is this new hearth room. It comes complete with a flat screen for TV viewing, French doors for private visits and a relaxing atmosphere to read a book or doze off in front of the hearth.

Otterbein Retains EAGLE Accreditation

On March 28th, at the annual United Methodist Association’s National Convention, Otterbein will be one of 16 organizations recognized for successfully achieving The Educational Assessment Guidelines Leading toward Excellence (EAGLE). Otterbein has been accredited since 1998.

EAGLE accreditation is a professional credentialing process for faith-based organizations providing care to older adults, children, youth and families, community services ministries and hospitals and health systems.

The Commission challenges organizations to meet or exceed the highest standards for governance, management and operations in Christian ministry. The intensive self-assessment and peer review process encourages and recognizes excellence in Christian mission and ministry.
