Nursing is an honored, trusted profession prized highly at Otterbein. You benefit from our high nurse-to-patient ratio.
Registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and state-tested nursing assistants staff our Lebanon care teams. They manage, observe and evaluate your care on a routine basis.
Each nurse is a member of an interdisciplinary team working to coordinate specialized care as prescribed by your physician. With their help, you follow an individualized and complete plan of care.
Our nurses, along with all our staff at Otterbein, advocate for your wellness and dignity. You are always encouraged to meet your fullest physical, mental, social and spiritual potential.

Residents enjoy an environment designed to enhance self-esteem, independence and a warm sense of community.
Our memory support environment is safe and secure. But also comfortable and homey. Meaningful activities abound, geared to the interests and strengths of each resident.
We do all we can to help each person retain as much independence as possible. We help you stay useful and contribute as you can. Socialization is encouraged. Art and music are part of every day.
Our specially-trained staff assesses individual needs and preferences as time goes on. New medical information and care innovations about cognitive impairment come to light every day. So our program evolves based on resident needs and current research. Quality of life remains uppermost.
Seamless care from your very own Otterbein Lebanon team — on campus — optimizes your recovery. We manage your condition until you can return to your daily routine.
Transitional care is by definition short term — usually less than 30 days. But those few weeks are crucial. Skilled medical care is vital. So is continuity of communication and coordination of care. That’s why your transition is managed by people you know at Otterbein.
The Transitional Care Unit (TCU) has 24 beds, 16 private and eight semi-private. The TCU is staffed with skilled nurses and therapists who work in conjunction with your hospital discharge department or home health agency.
As you progress, we teach you to manage your own needs. You learn to understand medications. You’ll recognize the signs and symptoms that should lead you to contact a health provider. You return home stronger and wiser.

When you’re recovering from surgery, illness, injury, a wound or a fall, there’s a special Otterbein Home Health team ready to help. We’ll bring the best personal and professional care possible to your doorstep.
Skilled nurses, home health aides, and physical, occupational and speech therapists come to you. We take the time to listen to your concerns, guide you, and share encouragement.
Since physical healing benefits from spirituality, spiritual caregivers will pray, read scripture, or simply chat with you as you wish. We believe you deserve to be comfortable, happy, safe and respected.

Sometimes caregivers need care. The physical and emotional demands of caring 24 hours a day for a family member lead to stress. You know it’s important to find time for yourself, but how do you do that? Check into Otterbein Lebanon for a respite. You and your loved one can take advantage of our high standards of care. And you can both enjoy our life enrichment activities, as you are able.
Or perhaps you need a seasonal break. Winters demand snow shoveling. Driving can be hazardous. You may feel shut in and away from friends. A healthy hiatus on our campus can re-engage you in life. Let our ministry help strengthen your spirit with joy, peace and serenity.
We never stop working to help you achieve as much independence, meaning and satisfaction possible — in every aspect of your life.
At Otterbein Lebanon, your activities counselor works with you to create a plan for optimal personal development. One that encompasses your physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and vocational well being.
We take care of your basic needs, freeing you to become the person God wants you to be. And you become that person by doing things that are educational, cultural, healthful or just plain fun.
