We’re happy to show you virtually what it’s like to reside at Otterbein St. Marys. But we know you’d rather visit yourself, take a tour, talk to residents and get a feel of our lovely campus.
Marjorie and John Jessup wanted to spare their children what they themselves had suffered.
“We were caregivers for John’s mother, who had Alzheimer's but refused to leave her home,” said Marjorie. “We vowed not to put our children in that position.” And thus began the couple’s search for an active and continuous care retirement community.
They discovered Otterbein St. Marys while looking at homes near Grand Lake St. Marys. After researching Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices on the internet, they called for more information.
For the Jessups, the small size and sense of family at Otterbein St. Marys was very important. One of the biggest draws was being on the lake in a small rural community. And one of the pleasantest surprises has been the high level of service they receive.
"We have such a wonderful director and partners,” said Marjorie. “They all just go that extra mile to help us with most everything we ask of them. They are friendly, helpful and cheerful no matter how busy they are.
“It is a close-knit campus. You get to know almost everyone. We feel safe and secure on this campus. It's nice to know there is always help if you need it. We feel truly blessed to be able to live at Otterbein St. Marys," Marjorie said.
